FAQs

When does the course start?

Our next cohort starts Friday April 8th, with signups closing on Friday April 1st to allow for shipping of supplies before starting the course.

I already own some of the books or supplies, do I still need to buy them?

No! No need to buy things you already have. For example, if you own a chef’s knife that you keep sharp, you’ll indicate that when you check out and the cost of the knife will be refunded to you when I send out the remaining supplies. Same for any of the other equipment or books.

Does it cost extra to do the course with my partner/roommate?

Anyone in your household can participate for no extra cost so long as it’s on the same Zoom screen. It’s a great experience to share with your partner or roommate!

Is this course for beginners or experienced cooks?

Both. If you already like to cook, this course will help you see the big picture: what’s essential, what’s useful, and what’s neither. Seeing the connections between every tasty thing you’ve ever eaten is (at least in my experience) a really mind-blowing revelation. You’ll also be able to cook completely without recipes.

If you’re a relatively inexperienced cook, you’ll get to skip the BS of food media. You’ll skip straight to cooking absolutely delicious and simple food and then slowly grow towards whatever other foods interest you.

Can I take the course if I have a scheduling conflict with some classes?

Yes! Each live class is recorded over Zoom and sent out the next day. The course also comes with an understanding guarantee, so that if you reach the end of the course and aren’t seeing the big picture you’ll be refunded the full tuition (minus the cost of equipment and books).
